How do headphones cancel out noise?
Headphones use special technology called Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to reduce unwanted sounds. Some use microphones on the outside (feedforward) to catch noise and create a signal that cancels it out. Others use microphones inside the ear-cup (feedback) to catch anything the first system missed.
The most advanced headphones use both methods together. This is called Hybrid Noise Cancellation. By working together, these systems block out more noise than either could alone, making your listening experience even better!
